  • About the Role

    As a Security Engineer at Pidwin, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our platforms, products, and customer data. You’ll independently identify and deliver security solutions, lead projects that protect our ecosystem, and proactively mitigate risks. This role blends technical expertise, project ownership, and collaboration with engineering and product teams to deliver meaningful business impact.

    This is an in-office role based in our Miami headquarters. We’re looking for someone excited to contribute in person, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and help strengthen the on-site engineering culture as we continue to grow.

  • Responsibilities

    Security Leadership & Execution

    • Own and deliver security-focused projects aligned with quarterly goals.
    • Independently identify and implement solutions to ambiguous and complex security challenges.
    • Embed security into CI/CD pipelines in partnership with platform engineering (DevSecOps).
    • Create automated tools for penetration testing, threat detection, and vulnerability analysis.

    Technical Security Expertise

    • Design and enforce security architectures for applications, systems, and networks.
    • Develop and maintain monitoring tools and alerting systems for intrusions and vulnerabilities.
    • Perform risk assessments, establish threat models, and ensure secure SDLC practices.
    • Write flexible, secure, and efficient code using tools like Python, Bash, and Go.

    Collaboration & Communication

    • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to prioritize and integrate security features.
    • Share insights clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Promote an inclusive, transparent communication style and lead by example.

    Mentorship & Culture

    • Provide guidance to less-experienced team members and support their growth.
      Contribute to a strong engineering culture through onboarding, tech talks, and tooling.
    • Champion best practices, virtual-first collaboration, and healthy team dynamics.
  • Technologies

    • Languages & Scripting: Python, Bash, Go, Node.js
    • Security Tools: Wireshark, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nessus, OSSEC, AWS security tools
    • Other: CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and CircleCI, threat modeling, secure coding practices, encryption standards
  • Key Qualifications

    • Proven experience in a security engineering role, preferably in a high-growth or startup environment.
    • Strong understanding of application, network, and cloud security.
    • Experience designing security architecture and building monitoring/alerting systems.
    • Familiarity with penetration testing and vulnerability scanning methodologies.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with a bias for action and clear communication.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Background in iGaming, fintech, payments, or crypto environments.
    • Experience mentoring or guiding others in security best practices.
    • Contributions to open-source or community-driven security initiatives.
  • Benefits

    The salary range for this position is $120,000-$160,000. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s location, relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications.
